Mazu Freediving trains divers to move through deep water with control, calm, and reverence — under the guidance of Twigy Feng, the USA's #5-ranked female depth athlete in 2025 and a safety diver trusted at international freediving competitions.
Twigy Feng is a competitive freediver, AIDA-certified safety diver, and Molchanovs Wave 2 instructor based in Orlando, Florida. She has served as in-water safety and rescue for depth and pool competitions across multiple countries — including Costa Rica's AIDA Champion Cup, the Nicaragua Apoyo Competition, and the first-ever ice diving event held in the United States — and currently ranks #5 among female depth athletes in the USA.
Off the line, she serves as an ambassador for The Only One, a marine conservation NGO, promoting sustainable ocean practices alongside her competition work. Mazu Freediving carries that same dual commitment: building strong, safe divers while protecting the ocean they train in.
In Chinese coastal tradition, Mazu is the sea goddess who calms storms and guides sailors safely home. It's a fitting namesake: staying calm under pressure and guiding people safely through deep water is exactly the work Twigy has built her career around — as an athlete, an instructor, and a safety diver standing by at the world's most demanding competitions.
Every competition logged — a chronological record of the events Twigy has kept safe, from pool decks to under-ice.
Three ways to work with Twigy, from your first breath-hold to your next depth goal.
Structured Molchanovs freediving courses taught by a certified Wave 2 Instructor — from your first static breath-hold through advanced depth technique, equalization, and safety protocol.
Multi-day retreats pairing focused training with rest and community, in the water and out. Small groups, guided by one of the USA's top-ranked female depth athletes and a competition safety diver who knows how to hold space for pressure — and calm, so you can push toward your own depth goals with confidence.
Personalized coaching for divers chasing a specific depth goal or preparing for competition, drawing on Twigy's own record as a professional athlete and her safety work at AIDA-sanctioned events.
My freediving has accelerated significantly in a short amount of time. Throughout my journey, crisp technique has been a top goal, and Twigy has strongly guided me in this area. From finning and arm pulls to no-fin kick cycles, I've seen consistent improvement in my form and technique through her video review and feedback, assessment of my time, distance, and depth results, and in-person coaching. She's patient and understanding, and she knows how to pivot her approach to ensure the teaching resonates.
Training for national and continental depth records, traveling to remote competitions, and volunteering as safety crew all come at a real cost. If Mazu Freediving's mission — safety, sustainability, and depth — means something to you, consider chipping in.
